loxodrome traces a steady movement toward disappearance. A revolving clock mechanism inscribes its own duration across the surface of a white vinyl record, slowly wearing away the graphite point that makes the mark. Recording and erasure become a single operation, each repetition exhausting the very conditions that carry the information forward. The work lives in a slow collapse of inscription, memory, and material attrition, where continuity holds only through gradual loss.
Its title borrows the navigator’s term for a rhumb line, a course of constant bearing that spirals endlessly toward the pole.
